Lloyds TSB Insurance is a division within the company made up of Lloyds Bank and the Trustee Savings Bank (TSB). With one of the longest histories around, dating back to 1765, Lloyds Bank pioneered the idea of holding savings accounts for customers. Nowadays, Lloyds TSB has it's hands in a multitude of markets and customer products - including Lloyds TSB Insurance.
Lloyds TSB Insurance has a portfolio of products including car, home, travel and life insurance. To put a structure behind the Lloyds TSB Insurance service, they have brought together many different names from the industry for support. For example, Lloyds Tsb Car Insurance is arranged and underwritten by Churchill Insurance, Lloyds Tsb Home Insurance is underwritten by a number of insurers (including Lloyds TSB General Insurance Limited) whilst Lloyds Travel Insurance is administered and underwritten by AXA Insurance. All of the companies supporting the Lloyds TSB Insurance have an established history in each market in their own right.
This collective of insurance providers means that Lloyds TSB Insurance can produce a polished offering to customers from day one - inhereting the expertise of each partner in the process. This is fairly common practise across the industry but it's interesting to see how the relationships and links bring together each insurance company and branded offering. For example, Lloyds TSB Car Insurance is underwritten by Churchill Insurance, which is itself a division of the successful Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Group. This makes Lloyds TSB Insurance a distant cousin to other leading insurance brands, such as Direct Line Insurance, Tesco Insurance and Privilege Insurance.
