Born out of The British United Provident Association (BUPA) in the 1940s, the private health care provider offers many complimentary financial services which support its health care network of services. Their core financial product is BUPA Health Insurance - providing the public with affordable health insurance cover.
Offering customers an affordable alternative to the National Health Service, BUPA Health Insurance policies give access to expensive treatment which many people could not otherwise afford. Sticking to their focus on giving people flexibility, BUPA Health Insurance is available in five core policy types. This allows the customer to pick the BUPA Health Insurance product which is most suited to their needs.
Named BUPA Health Care Select 1-4, the highest level of cover from the BUPA Health Insurance comes from their Care Select 1 policy. This provides in-patient, day-patient and out-patient cover as well as psychiatric treatment. Moving down the BUPA Health Insurance range, the customer can pay a cheaper health insurance premium in return for a slightly lower level of cover.
The fifth BUPA Health Insurance product is their Health Care Select Heart & Cancer policy. This BUPA Health Insurance policy is design to purely cover acute heart and cancer conditions. Each of the BUPA Health Insurance Care Select policies gives the customer access to their choice of local or national hospital locations.
The range of BUPA Health Insurance policies are provided by BUPA Insurance Limited. This division of BUPA is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
