Founded in 1965 by the National Union of Students (NUS), Endsleigh Home Insurance has grown significantly from their early emergence on University campuses providing services to their student audience. Spreading across the country, Endsleigh Home Insurance was an insurance intermediary intent on supporting particular risks which "traditional" insurers preferred to avoid - namely students and shared accommodation.

Acting as an insurance intermediary, Endsleigh Home Insurance uses a select panel of insurers to back up the home insurance policies they sell to you, the public. This means that each policy sold could be provided by any one of a number of home insurers, helping Endsleigh Home Insurance to move into a variety of risk areas more easily and quickly.

The natural progression of Endsleigh Home Insurance has extended from its early offerings of contents insurance and buildings insurance to students. Nowadays, Endsleigh Home Insurance has a strong provision for landlords and young professionals - a natural progression from their foundations in the student market. Backed up by over 1,000 staff, Endsleigh Home Insurance aims to provide for the home insurance requirements from your student years, right the way through your career.

As of 2007, Endsleigh Home Insurance is now a solely owned part of the Zurich Insurance Group. Despite their foundations and the obvious benefits of their part ownership by the National Union of Students (NUS) in the early years, the sale of Endsleigh Insurance to Zurich Insurance should enable them to expand their business into many more areas.
