Aviva Life Insurance Offers Free Cover To New Parents

Aviva Life Insurance (formerly known as Norwich Union) are providing new parents with life cover up to £10,000 if their new born is still less than six months old. The policy will last until the child's landmark first birthday.

This is a simple promotion from Aviva which addresses the fact that 40% of new parents do not have any life insurance cover in place. What is more, 17% of those parents who do have life insurance cover are only covered for the payments on their mortgage - a level which Aviva Insurance deems to be too low.

This offer comes during times of financial hardship and this promotion is likely to provide parents not only with free protection, but also a reminder of the importance of protecting their family financially.

Head of protection at UK Life Aviva, Louise Colley, comments: "We're going the extra mile with this free cover because we believe it's absolutely essential that new parents consider how they best protect their new family."

Aviva have made this offer available to parents through financial advisers. This gives the Aviva representatives the chance educate new and existing customers about financial protection options for their family, just in case the worst happens.

Aviva are currently in the middle of a global rebranding exercise which has seen its UK operation change name from Norwich Union to Aviva. High profile advertising featuring A-list celebrities, football shirt sponsorship deals and local community events have been used to communicate Aviva's new image. This life insurance promotion gives Aviva another opportunity to talk to consumers about their products.
